I'd love to post a couple of shots from yesterdays visit to Saturday's wedding venue. It's a very nice venue. However, I couldn't possible risk spoiling the surprise for Holly, the Don't Tell The Bride bride. It sounds like it's going to be a very long and busy day but it should also be very exciting and there's going to be plenty of amazing photo opportunities.
I've read some other blogs by photographers who have covered Don't Tell The Bride weddings. There are mixed stories, some people love it, some people don't. It does sound like working around the TV crew and their restrictions will pose some 'challenges', especially as it sounds like they don't like flash or the sound of shutters going off. Well, I can work around one of those issues, but I'm kind of stuck on the other! Hopefully a chat with one of the crew today should iron out what I can and cannot do. Working around them looks like it could be a handful...
I'm tempted to put the 70-200mm zoom on and work from afar, but the service room is pretty small and I won't have time to change lenses. Looks like I'll have to get my elbows out.
Anyhow, come Saturday I will be finally be able to reveal the locations and maybe one or two sneak preview shots. Keep an eye on twitter @jtraceyphoto as I will tweet how it's going through the day. It's safe to say Holly and Anthony won't be the only people with nerves come Saturday morning, but nerves mean I'm 'on it'. Roll on Saturday!
